Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Join the Golf Rival team at Nordeus as a Senior Backend Engineer and help shape the core services that support millions of players worldwide. You will work closely with game developers, designers, and data scientists to deliver high‑performance, reliable backend systems for a fast‑growing mobile game.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evolve backend services that power core gameplay and live features.
• Own the full feature lifecycle from concept and technical design through rapid deployment.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate game designs into robust backend solutions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to technical decision‑making.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in server‑side application development.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work autonomously.
• Passion for gaming and a desire to contribute to player experiences.
• Self‑motivated learner comfortable navigating multiple technical domains.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one general‑purpose language (Java, C#, C/C++, Python, Go).
• Experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
