Senior Cybersecurity Engineer – Energy & Commodities

About the role

Tremend is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to protect client assets across the energy and commodities sectors. You will apply your problem‑solving creativity to identify, assess, and remediate complex security challenges in a fast‑moving technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on systems, networks, and applications.
• Identify security risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement controls such as firewalls, IDS, and encryption.
• Monitor network traffic and system logs for potential breaches and respond to incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and industry regulations.
• Perform security audits to ensure compliance with standards and certifications.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience as a security engineer, network engineer, or in a DevOps role.
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing security measures.
• Proactive, analytical mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
• Familiarity with risk assessment, security audits, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience securing public‑cloud infrastructures (Azure or GCP) and using DevOps practices.

Required skills

• Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.

• Splunk or equivalent log‑analysis tools.
