Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Camlin Group is seeking a Senior AI & Data Engineer to design and deliver AI‑driven data products for the energy sector. This hybrid, permanent position combines hands‑on engineering with strategic planning to turn complex sensor data into reliable, business‑impacting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI and data systems from concept through production, including predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, asset monitoring and energy forecasting.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers and domain experts to translate ambiguous business problems into structured engineering plans.
• Prototype and validate ideas quickly, reducing technical and product risk early.
• Develop scalable data and ML workflows using modern cloud‑native tooling.
• Influence architecture decisions, product roadmap and technical direction.
• Evaluate trade‑offs between model accuracy, reliability, latency and operational cost.
• Drive measurable outcomes with clear KPIs and improve engineering quality, maintainability and reliability.

Required profile

• Proven experience building real‑world AI, ML or data products in operational environments.
• Ability to work across data engineering and ML systems, not just isolated pipelines.
• Comfort with uncertainty, evolving requirements and noisy, incomplete sensor data.
• Pragmatic engineering mindset focused on outcomes and business impact.
