Software Engineer – AI Integration Tools

About the role

Paychex is seeking a mid‑level software engineer to join the Core and Foundational Agents team. You will design and build AI‑driven integration agents that connect our platform with external systems such as ServiceNow, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, and Splunk.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high‑level architecture analysis and contribute to AI integration solution design.
• Develop, test, and maintain integration agents and AI‑driven applications.
• Design and implement APIs and connectors for external platforms.
• Troubleshoot system issues and deliver sustainable fixes.
• Document new applications and changes to existing solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, platform teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Research emerging AI technologies and recommend enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3‑4 years of experience in application development using Python.NET, or Java.
• Experience with FastAPI and AI engineering projects.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases; ability to write moderate queries.
