Commodity Buyer

About the role

Grammer Business Centre in Niš is seeking a Commodity Buyer to support its global automotive interior and suspension seat operations. The role focuses on analysing markets, managing tenders, and negotiating contracts for a range of material categories.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and evaluate procurement markets for assigned categories.
• Conduct group‑wide requirement analysis and bundle needs for international tenders.
• Prepare enquiries, compare quotations, evaluate quality, price, delivery and technology.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and develop decision‑making dossiers for internal award committees.
• Coordinate with project purchasing, category management, development, controlling, legal, accounting and logistics teams.
• Perform process and value analysis with selected suppliers and participate in make‑or‑buy decisions.
• Lead or support supplier evaluations and escalation discussions.

Required profile

• Completed university degree (commercial or technical) or vocational training with relevant further education.
• Several years of professional experience in purchasing and/or supply chain management.
• Fluency in English; German is a plus.
• Very good knowledge of MS Office; SAP experience is advantageous.
