Monitoring Systems Engineer (Mid‑Level)

About the role

SOFTSWISS is looking for a detail‑oriented Monitoring Systems Engineer to design, maintain and evolve the observability ecosystem that keeps our production services reliable and performant.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑call coverage for day and night shifts, troubleshoot incidents and coordinate with vendors when needed.
• Document infrastructure issues, root‑cause analyses and maintain a knowledge base.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to gather monitoring requirements and implement suitable solutions.
• Configure, fine‑tune and expand monitoring/observability platforms, alerts and dashboards.
• Reduce noise by refining alerting rules and improve dashboard clarity.
• Integrate monitoring data with ticketing and incident‑response tools such as Jira and Opsgenie.
• Identify and automate repetitive monitoring tasks, including AI‑assisted approaches.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Systems Engineer, SRE, DevOps or Monitoring Support Engineer (L2+).
• Strong knowledge of Linux (Debian‑based) environments.
• Proficiency in English (B1+) and Russian (B2+).

Required skills

• Containerisation and orchestration: LXC/LXD, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Scripting/programming: Bash, Python, Go.
• REST API usage.
• Database fundamentals, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Integration with Jira, Opsgenie and similar platforms.
