Accounting & Payroll Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting & Payroll Specialist to support a fast‑growing, globally‑distributed company. The role is fully remote and focuses on end‑to‑end accounting and U.S. payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely payments.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable: import vendor invoices, maintain vendor records and resolve statement discrepancies.
• Manage accounts receivable: create invoices, monitor balances, post payments and support bad‑debt monitoring.
• Administer U.S. payroll and international contractor payments, partnering with providers such as Gusto, Deel or Justworks.
• Support the employee lifecycle – onboarding, off‑boarding, and payroll‑impacting changes.
• Execute month‑end close activities, prepare journal entries and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts (cash, prepaid, accrued expenses, fixed assets, WIP, COGS).
• Maintain and improve accounting SOPs, identify process gaps and document procedures.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with U.S. payroll processing and a solid understanding of federal and state labor and tax regulations.
• Familiarity with external payroll platforms (e.g., Gusto, Deel, Justworks).
• Experience in accounts payable/receivable and month‑end close activities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
