General Maintenance Technician

About the role

The General Maintenance Technician supports guests and hotel operations by responding to repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently. This full‑time, onsite position works within the St. Regis Belgrade property, reporting to the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and document daily activities for shift hand‑over.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, and mechanical room assets, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities, and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and complete clean‑up of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, lighting, and guestroom devices.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work and follow all safety policies.
• Maintain landscaping, sprinkler systems, and perform basic vehicle upkeep.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel or similar facility.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and navigating stairs.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical troubleshooting and basic wiring.
• Plumbing repair, including unclogging drains and toilet maintenance.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall and wood‑trim repair.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Landscaping and sprinkler system maintenance.
• Basic computer skills for HVAC scheduling and temperature adjustments.
