Quality Specialist – Launch Team

About the role

Join Ball’s Launch Team as a Quality Specialist and drive the start‑up performance of new builds, new lines and line conversions. You will ensure product quality, food‑safety compliance and environmental standards while supporting rapid ramp‑up to stable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve efficiency and spoilage targets for all new builds, new lines and conversions in line with approved start‑up curves.
• Lead quality performance during the start‑up phase, delivering compliant, consistent product from first production through hand‑over.
• Monitor processes, materials and outputs to guarantee food‑safety compliance and take immediate corrective action on deviations.
• Oversee inspections, audits and material checks, ensuring the local quality team follows required standards.
• Maintain, calibrate and validate gauges, inspection devices and measurement equipment.
• Track quality trends, identify early variation signals and initiate corrective or preventive actions.
• Support the Plant Quality Manager in implementing ISO, HACCP and other regulatory or customer‑driven food‑safety systems.
• Execute SOPs, SPC and other quality tools to ensure process repeatability during ramp‑up.
• Train production and quality staff on process understanding, defect prevention, inspection standards and food‑safety practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment, preferably with start‑up or line‑conversion projects.
• Strong knowledge of ISO, HACCP, SPC and SOP implementation.
• Ability to lead audits, inspections and corrective‑action processes.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret quality data and drive continuous improvement.
