Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Billups is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of data and machine‑learning pipelines that power its advertising platform. You will work in a fast‑moving, engineer‑led environment, collaborating with product, design and analytics teams to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures on Databricks.
• Write clean, well‑tested Python, SQL and Apache Spark code.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Optimize pipelines and queries for performance, cost efficiency and privacy compliance.
• Develop and maintain unit tests, code‑coverage reports and CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews, pull‑request reviews, pair programming and mentor junior engineers.
• Own components of the data platform from design through deployment and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional data‑engineering experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Deep knowledge of Apache Spark and distributed data processing.
• Ability to take ownership of end‑to‑end data solutions and work collaboratively.
• Willingness to learn new tools, share knowledge and ask for help when needed.
