(Senior) Data Engineer

About the role

Merkle, a dentsu company, is looking for a Data Engineer to join its team in Belgrade. The role covers designing and building big data architecture pipelines for cloud data lakehouses, and optimizing and productionizing machine learning and predictive models. Mid-level and senior profiles are considered.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data ingestion and processing of various data sources using public cloud services.
• Work with stakeholders on data-related technical issues, optimize existing data delivery and redesign infrastructure for greater scalability.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence consultants to assemble large data sets for data lakehouses.
• Support ML teams in deploying and optimizing AI and machine learning models.
• Develop data pipelines for marketing automation, customer acquisition and other business areas.
• Use infrastructure as code and CI/CD tools to automate release pipelines.
• Document pipelines in Confluence, plan work in Jira with Agile methodology, and support pre-sales with technical solutions and effort estimates.

Required profile

• 3-7 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience building and productionizing big data architectures, pipelines and data sets.
• Understanding of data lake, lambda architecture, stream processing, DWH and BI concepts.
• Strong analytic skills with structured and unstructured data, and experience with data transformation, metadata and workload management.
• CI/CD automation experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Nice to have: BI project delivery (Power BI, Tableau, Looker), Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics, and Salesforce Cloud.
