Serbian Language Teacher Consultant – Presevo Municipality

About the role

The OSCE Mission to Serbia is looking for a local consultant to deliver a Serbian language course for Albanian‑minority candidates preparing for police training in the Presevo municipality. Working under a Special Service Agreement, the consultant will design, teach, and assess the curriculum to ensure participants meet the language standards required for enrolment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and administer an entry assessment to gauge participants' Serbian proficiency.
• Review, adapt, and enhance the existing Serbian language curriculum and learning materials.
• Develop a detailed work plan, teaching methodology, and lesson schedule using interactive, learner‑centred approaches.
• Deliver in‑person Serbian language classes to approximately 30 prospective police candidates.
• Provide individual mentoring sessions to address specific learning needs.
• Monitor progress throughout the course and adjust teaching methods and materials as needed.
• Coordinate with other language instructors supporting minority candidates in Serbia, sharing best practices and resources.
• Participate in regular coordination meetings and report on course implementation.
• Administer a final assessment and compile a comprehensive report with recommendations for future activities.

Required profile

• Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia.
• Proven experience teaching Serbian to adult learners, preferably in a professional or security‑sector context.
• Familiarity with language requirements for police recruitment and basic training.
