Staff Quality Automation Engineer

About the role

d-Matrix is building AI inference infrastructure, from chips and software to rack-scale systems. Its Quality Engineering (QE) team tests, triages and reports defects, then verifies fixes, working with Product and Engineering on functional behavior, numerical accuracy, performance and stability. As a Staff Quality Automation Engineer, you will turn QE workflows, automation and prototypes into reliable internal tools used across d-Matrix, supporting test and software engineers in robust releases.

Key responsibilities

• Work with QE and Engineering to define scope, priorities and expected results, and raise blockers
• Build and maintain shared automation, test frameworks and harnesses for functional, integration, regression and release testing across software and hardware configurations
• Turn scripts and prototypes into usable tools with clear interfaces, configuration, setup, error handling and diagnostics; review code and test the tools
• Integrate tools with CI, nightly and release workflows, record builds and configurations so failures can be reproduced
• Support adoption through documentation and examples, measure effort, reliability and result quality, and hand over maintenance notes
• Assess coverage, assertions and negative cases, distinguish product issues from environment problems, and verify fixes with developers
• Test promising AI coding agents and workflow tools, and follow approved data-handling rules

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience
• Experience building shared test automation, frameworks or engineering tools that others use repeatedly
• Practical test engineering: requirements, coverage, boundary and negative cases, and failure investigation using code and logs
• Experience guiding technical work across distributed teams through design and code reviews
• Preferred: systems software testing (firmware, drivers, compilers, runtimes, distributed systems), ML inference, quantization or performance benchmarks, and hardware-in-the-loop or soak testing
