Junior Automation Developer

About the role

As a Junior Automation Developer you will join Kuehne+Nagel’s global IT team, helping to design and maintain the automation backbone that supports the company’s logistics operations worldwide. This role offers hands‑on experience with both process automation and AI‑enhanced solutions, making a tangible impact on the delivery of essential goods.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions ranging from simple scripts to moderately complex workflows.
• Analyse business processes to identify automation and optimisation opportunities.
• Integrate AI‑powered capabilities into existing and new automation projects.
• Monitor and support deployed automations, ensuring stable performance and rapid issue resolution.
• Create and keep up‑to‑date technical documentation.
• Collaborate with international automation teams and business stakeholders across the organisation.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in automation and AI.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Up to 2 years of experience in software development, automation or a similar IT role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Curiosity, adaptability and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
• Understanding of automation concepts and technologies.
• Familiarity with automation platforms (e.g., UiPath) is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of APIs and AI‑powered solutions.
