Junior Software Engineer (Distributed Systems)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join the Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) team in Belgrade. You will work on core virtual-machine management and control-plane components of Nutanix’s cloud-infrastructure stack, gaining hands-on experience with large-scale distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain distributed components of the AHV virtual-machine management plane.
• Collaborate with development, testing, and product management teams to deliver high-quality features in an agile environment.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning of cloud-native services.
• Assist customers and support teams in diagnosing and resolving production issues.

Required profile

• Passion for programming and problem solving.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong understanding of operating-system concepts, preferably Linux.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid setting (minimum three days on-site per week).

Required skills

• Programming languages: Python, Golang, Java, C++.
• Design of distributed systems and APIs.
• Experience with API backend frameworks.
