Backend Engineer (Python)

About the role

We’re searching for a Backend Engineer to join SplitMetrics Acquire’s engineering team. In this role you will design and implement scalable, high‑load systems using Python, handle massive data volumes (200‑400 million records per day), build and maintain data pipelines, and improve system reliability, security and performance. You will also develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain backend products while collaborating on micro‑services solutions and conducting thorough code reviews with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high‑load backend systems in Python.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, integration and analytics for large‑scale datasets.
• Enhance system reliability, security and performance.
• Build, deploy, monitor and maintain micro‑services‑based solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA and product teams.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with Python.
• Experience with Python web frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL performance optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with async task queues (Celery, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Proven ability to design and scale micro‑services architectures.
• Familiarity with Docker and modern CI/CD practices.
