SRE Observability Engineer (Data Platform)

About the role

Emerging Travel Group is looking for an SRE Observability Engineer focused on its data platform. The role builds end-to-end monitoring for infrastructure stacks and acts as a single point of expertise in monitoring, freeing team leads from routine dashboard and alerting support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end monitoring for infrastructure stacks, including Trino, Kubernetes, databases and Big Data (Apache Ozone and Hadoop)
• Implement automatic collection of DORA metrics and build high-level health dashboards showing service uptime
• Audit current metrics and close gaps in monitoring, especially in Kubernetes, databases and distributed storage systems
• Optimize and update Alertmanager rules to catch incidents and anomalies early
• Serve as the single point of expertise in monitoring

Required profile

• 3 years of experience as DevOps/SRE and 5 years in IT
• Experience as an SRE or monitoring engineer focused on infrastructure reliability rather than product features
• Ability to turn abstract system behaviour and logs into clear, actionable metrics

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana and Alertmanager, including complex PromQL queries and reducing alert fatigue
• Practical understanding of SLI/SLO/SLA, error budgets and DORA metrics
• Kubernetes and database experience, and quick grasp of Hadoop and Trino metrics
• Python (Go/JS as a plus)
• Experience with ClickHouse, Vertica, StarRocks or Greenplum
