Compensation & Benefits Specialist – Tax Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Compensation, Benefits & Tax Compliance Specialist to support individual income tax compliance, employee benefit cost administration, payroll‑related data allocation, and manpower cost analysis for both local employees and expatriates in Serbia. The role focuses on tax compliance, benefits, and cost allocation, without handling full payroll processing.

Key responsibilities

• Support individual income tax matters for local staff and expatriates, including filings, documentation, and tax relief or refund procedures.
• Administer and analyse employee benefit costs, ensuring correct tax treatment.
• Prepare and coordinate benefit‑ and tax‑related information required for payroll processing.
• Allocate payroll and benefit costs accurately across companies, departments, and cost centres.
• Monitor Serbian tax, social security, and employee‑benefit regulations and advise HR, Finance, and management.
• Maintain tax and benefit records, and provide documentation for internal reviews, audits, and government inspections.
• Collaborate with internal payroll teams, external tax advisers, consulting firms, payroll providers, and authorities.
• Prepare manpower cost reports, support basic cost and variance analysis, and respond to related inquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in taxation, accounting, employee benefits, payroll support, HR operations or consulting.
• Working knowledge of Serbian individual income tax, social security and employee‑benefit regulations.
• Experience with tax filings, claims or refunds is a plus.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to accuracy and confidentiality.
• Fluent in Serbian and English.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
