Manufacturing Engineering Manager

About the role

Adient is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead engineering, maintenance, automation and continuous improvement functions at a plant level. You will shape short‑ and long‑term engineering strategies that support production goals and customer expectations across the automotive seating business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Engineering, Maintenance, AME, Automation and Continuous Improvement teams.
• Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with plant and business objectives.
• Drive innovation, automation and continuous‑improvement projects to boost productivity, quality and performance.
• Oversee engineering activities for new product launches, APQP and process validation.
• Manage departmental CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
• Promote Lean Manufacturing, TPM and structured problem‑solving methods.
• Support capacity planning, capability development and cross‑functional collaboration with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Central Engineering.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, company standards and safety regulations.
• Develop and mentor multidisciplinary teams, fostering accountability and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, including leadership roles.
• Proven experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
• Strong leadership, communication and analytical abilities.
• Fluent English.
