.NET Engineer – AI Tools (Mid‑Level)

About the role

Paychex is looking for a mid‑level .NET Engineer to design, develop and maintain cloud‑native services that power its AI‑enabled HCM platform. You will work on a modern stack that includes ASP.NET Core APIs, React front‑ends and containerised deployments on Kubernetes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and enhance existing cloud‑native applications using C# and .NET Core.
• Build and maintain ASP.NET Core Web APIs, leveraging Entity Framework Core and LINQ.
• Participate in troubleshooting, debugging and fixing defects across development and production environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and application monitoring.
• Write and execute unit, integration and business acceptance tests.
• Document code changes and new functionality.
• Engage in code reviews, Agile ceremonies and effort estimation.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging AI‑assisted development tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• 2‑5 years of professional experience with C# and .NET Core/.NET.
• Hands‑on experience building ASP.NET Core Web APIs.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Self‑directed with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
