Principal Clinical Data Scientist

About the role

The Principal Clinical Data Scientist leads the Clinical Science Analytics & Insights (CSAI) function from study start‑up through database lock, delivering scientific and indication‑specific insights, data cleaning, and visualization for Precision’s cross‑functional data review team.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as functional lead for CSAI services on assigned projects, managing scope, timelines, and budgets.
• Develop and implement cross‑functional data cleaning processes, coordinating with data management, medical, safety, vendors, and sponsors.
• Oversee medical monitor review, protocol review, and provide scientific input to eCRF design, edit checks, and UAT.
• Conduct holistic scientific data reviews using Smart Patient Profiles™, workbooks, listings, and quality metrics.
• Manage queries in EDC systems, provide status updates, and resolve data issues.
• Lead training for CSAI scientists, project teams, and study sites; participate in study meetings and presentations.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of clinical research experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of oncology, medical terminology, FDA/ICH‑GCP regulations, and clinical trial processes.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills; ability to work remotely and manage global cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Use of data visualization tools such as JReview.
• Experience in database build, on‑site monitoring, and data review processes.
