Senior Software Engineer / Application Developer

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer / Application Developer in the Research & Development team, you will shape the future of Infineon's Design Flow infrastructure. You will combine creativity with technical expertise to deliver robust, high‑quality software solutions that accelerate semiconductor design cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, document and support components written in Python and C++ for the Design Flow platform.
• Define technical specifications aligned with stakeholder requirements and project goals.
• Perform unit, integration and functional testing, handle errors, and maintain deployment pipelines.
• Utilise DevOps tools such as code coverage, CI/CD, performance testing and memory checks to ensure development standards.
• Collaborate with designers and flow teams to customise existing tools or create new solutions that reduce design cycle time.
• Lead software architecture, create technical proposals, plan road‑maps, estimate effort and mentor team members.
• Ensure compliance with Infineon development processes and leverage AI‑powered tools for efficiency.

Required profile

• University degree in Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work in global, multicultural teams and drive topics forward with autonomy.
