Software Engineer - Release Management

About the role

Cisco is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join its Release team in Belgrade and help improve the software project infrastructure and product quality for the Cisco Silicon One architecture. The role combines software development and program management, works with cross-functional teams, and involves being the main contact between technical teams and stakeholders. It is described as a chance to work with worldwide distributed Cisco R&D centers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the software release lifecycle so that products are delivered efficiently, on time and within scope.
• Act as the primary contact between technical teams and stakeholders, giving regular updates on release status, issues and resolutions.
• Analyze release processes and performance metrics to find areas for improvement.
• Design and implement automation processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Required profile

• BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related field.
• More than 2 years of experience in software development or QA automation.
• Preferred: knowledge of networking, system integration experience, experience in multi-functional teams and good data analytics skills.

Required skills

• C++ or Python coding skills.
• Experience with Jira or other bug-tracking tools.
• Strong communication skills.
