Android AOSP Developer

About the role

Endava is looking for an Android AOSP Developer to join one of its scrum teams working on Android-based firmware and OS for video bars and tablet controllers. The role covers maintenance of existing functionality and development of new features. It is a hybrid (remote/office) position, mostly with little need to move between locations, though the account team visits twice a week.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components following IT industry standards, tools and practices.
• Take part in application development activities such as backlog refinement, estimation and implementation of requirements.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand client requirements, architecture and priorities.
• Escalate risks, issues and concerns related to development.
• Review the work of other development team members.
• Learn and apply new technologies, practices and tools, and take part in internal tech communities and events.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Android AOSP development.
• Educational background in computer science or equivalent.
• Intermediate English proficiency, at least.
• Good problem-solving, analytical thinking, communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• C/C++
• Android SDK/NDK, SELinux, networking protocols and TLS (very beneficial)
• Version control (Git or similar)
• Testing and mocking frameworks
• HTTP, REST, JSON, TCP/IP
• Basic knowledge of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and CI/CD tools
• Nice to have: camera interfaces (USB UVC, MIPI CSI, HDMI, Ethernet), streaming, encoding/decoding, RTP, image and video formats (JPG, PNG, RAW, H.264, H.265), Java and Kotlin, web proxies
