Associate Automation QA Engineer

About the role

BlackRock is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Automation QA Engineer to join its Quality Engineering team in Belgrade. You will help design, develop and run automated and AI-assisted testing solutions that protect the quality, reliability and performance of applications. The role suits an early-career QA professional wanting to grow in test automation, CI/CD, AI-enabled quality engineering and modern software development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and run automated test scripts for web, API and mobile apps, and support automation frameworks with industry-standard tools.
• Work with senior engineers to pick test scenarios for automation, analyse results, investigate failures and use AI-assisted tools to improve test design, data generation and maintenance.
• Create test cases and plans from business and technical requirements, and perform functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Document defects clearly, work with developers to fix them, validate fixes and check production readiness.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement) and collaborate with developers, product managers and business analysts.
• Support CI/CD testing pipelines, improve test coverage and efficiency, and explore ways to use AI and automation to cut repetitive testing effort.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Understanding of SDLC and STLC, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: exposure to Agile/Scrum, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), and AI-enabled testing tools.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of test automation tools such as Puppeteer, Playwright or Cypress.
• Familiarity with Python, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• API testing tools such as Postman; version control such as Git or Bitbucket.
• Preferred: CI/CD tools (Team City, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI), performance tools (JMeter, K6), test management (Jira, ADO).
