Functional Quality Assurance and Data Migration Officer

About the role

The ICRC's Protection & CTA Division protects people affected by war and armed conflict and relies on data turned into usable insights. This Functional Quality Assurance and Data Migration Officer is a technical quality specialist for the Protection Digital Ecosystem and other digital solutions managed by the Protection Data team, focusing on data migration and quality assurance. The role supports the Functional Quality and Testing Officer in Geneva, ensuring the new digital ecosystem works as users and protection programmes expect it to.

Key responsibilities

• Data migration: contribute to the migration strategy, map existing data structures to the ecosystem requirements, clean global and delegation-specific data, load and import data, and run quality and migration tests on test and production systems
• Improve migration scripts, report bugs, support parallel running of both systems during the transition and document the migration process
• Follow the functional testing strategy and schedule, and carry out functional, prototype, configuration, workflow, integration, role/access, regression, usability, UAT and pilot testing
• Report feedback clearly, suggest improvements and test automation, coordinate testing, train testers and consolidate feedback
• Document issues, gaps and risks and support functional readiness and deployment decisions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or a similar technical field
• At least 2 to 4 years of proven experience in a relevant field
• Experience in data analysis, statistical methods and functional testing is a strong asset
• Ability to understand new business processes and adapt to short deadlines in a constrained technological environment
• Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills, able to work with multicultural stakeholders

Required skills

• Knowledge and use of SQL (MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a strong asset
• Excellent computer literacy (MS Word, Excel)
• Fluent English; French and Spanish are an asset

This is a resident position in the Belgrade Global Hub on a 12-month fixed-term contract (possible extension), open only to persons with Serbian citizenship or a personal work permit in Serbia. Applications with a CV and motivation letter in English are accepted until 06/11/2026.
