Legal Counsel - Clinical Research

About the role

A fast-growing Site Enabling Organization operating globally in clinical research is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its international Legal Team in Belgrade. The role provides strategic and hands-on legal support across several jurisdictions, covering clinical trial contract negotiation, healthcare compliance, data protection, employment and corporate matters. You will report directly to the Global Legal Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and due diligence on regulatory and business environments in new and existing markets
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts such as clinical trial site agreements, services agreements with pharmaceutical sponsors, employment contracts and B2B/freelance service agreements
• Monitor local and global legislative changes relevant to clinical research and business operations
• Provide legal risk assessments and guidance to internal stakeholders
• Ensure legal documents meet internal quality and formatting standards (Word/PDF)
• Work in line with global legal policies and applicable regulatory requirements

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognized Serbian university (international studies such as a master's degree is a bonus)
• Qualified lawyer in Serbia (preferred but not mandatory)
• At least 5 years of experience as a legal professional, including at least 2 years in a pharmaceutical company, hospital, SMO or CRO
• Proven experience in local and international legal matters, including contract drafting and negotiation across jurisdictions
• Fluent English (minimum C1, strong legal English is a must)
• Proactive, confident communicator, collaborative team player and strong work ethic

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical and clinical research regulations and data protection laws
• Advanced MS Word and PDF document formatting skills
