Materials Planner

About the role

Adient is seeking a Materials Planner to manage demand evaluation, material and production planning, and on‑time delivery for its automotive seating operations. The role ensures that customer orders are translated into accurate production schedules and that material supplies align with manufacturing needs.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate customer demand and translate short‑term orders into detailed delivery plans.
• Ensure on‑time delivery in accordance with Customer Specific Requirements.
• Analyse long‑term volume trends and produce regular reports for forecasting.
• Develop detailed weekly production plans, monitor output, and implement corrective actions.
• Plan material requirements, release purchase orders, and control stock levels and deliveries.
• Coordinate communication with customers and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Create and maintain forms, work instructions, and reports following internal standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support change management and production preparation.
• Participate in periodic inventory counts and report daily key performance indicators.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by the Materials and Logistics Manager.

Required profile

• Experience in materials planning, supply‑chain or production scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret order data and forecast trends.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal teams, customers and suppliers.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow internal procedures and reporting standards.
