About the role

The OSPRE (Open Source and Information Preservation) team, part of the Digital Workplace product line, builds, operates and supports about 30 open-source and proprietary applications, mainly on an OpenShift/Kubernetes platform. The Tech Lead provides the technical expertise and operational leadership needed to keep the environment reliable, secure and continuously evolving, enabling information sharing, document management and collaboration across the organization. The role is open only to persons with Serbian citizenship or a personal work permit in Serbia.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and supervise technical standards across the team's solutions and lead the architecture beyond individual products.
  • Analyze recurring issues and requests to reduce ticket volume and improve reliability.
  • Operate and monitor OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters, troubleshoot Level 1 escalations and coordinate with other teams.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based tools, scripts, connectors and automations, contributing code to Git repositories.
  • Work with Product Owners and Product Architects to turn business and technical needs into maintainable solutions.
  • Evaluate and adopt new open-source technologies, and oversee security configurations, access management and vulnerability remediation.
  • Manage incidents, product tickets, service requests and backlog, and provide 24/7 product support on shift/on-call schedules.
  • Document technical designs, organize a community of practice and possibly manage external resources.

Required profile

  • Typically 7-8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in ICT / technical sciences or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience with a corporate service management (ticketing) tool.
  • Excellent command of English; French is an asset.
  • Strong motivation for humanitarian work and ability to work under pressure in a potentially dangerous environment.

Required skills

  • DevOps profile with hands-on OpenShift and Kubernetes expertise.
  • Mastery of open-source technologies and solid Python development skills.
  • Experience collaborating on Git.
  • Certification in Agile methodologies is an asset.

What we offer

  • Progressive professional development in an international humanitarian environment.
  • Hybrid working model: 3 days in the office.
  • A stimulating benefits package.

Applications (CV and motivation letter in English) are submitted through the ICRC careers channel; the application deadline is 24 November 2026.
