Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

Altium, a part of the Renesas Group, is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, availability and performance of its cloud platforms. The role combines software engineering and systems administration, focusing on automation, observability and incident management, and works closely with development and DevOps teams.

Key responsibilities

• Understand how the Altium Cloud Platform works and pioneer improvements in observability, including logging, monitoring and application performance management.
• Develop reliability frameworks and patterns that standardise resilience across SaaS products in multiple regions and environments.
• Cultivate a shared responsibility model by collaborating with and educating engineering teams on reliability best practices.
• Contribute to incident response and management, including rapid resolution, clear stakeholder communication and post-incident analysis.
• Take part in system design consulting, platform management, infrastructure upgrades and capacity planning.
• Drive automation initiatives, promote Infrastructure as Code and streamline deployment processes.
• Champion Service-Oriented Organization (SOO) principles for clear service ownership.

Required profile

• 6+ years in SRE, DevOps or a related role in a large-scale environment.
• Software development experience, ideally as a .NET developer.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC, microservices and high-availability architecture.

Required skills

• Observability tools such as NewRelic, ELK, Grafana, PagerDuty, OTEL or similar.
• Kubernetes clusters in production, AWS and IOC.
• CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, ArgoCD or similar.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible.
• Basic networking knowledge; relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) are a plus.
