Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, Vice President

About the role

BlackRock is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join its Aladdin Engineering organization in Belgrade. You will define and drive the quality engineering and automation strategy for complex, distributed systems used by thousands of investment professionals worldwide, working closely with engineering, product and business partners to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a Quality Engineering subject matter expert, owning quality attestations and sign-off for production releases
• Define and evolve the test automation and quality engineering strategy aligned with product architecture and business goals
• Design, develop and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and suites (UI, API, data and nonfunctional)
• Lead functional, nonfunctional and regression testing, and participate in sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives using Azure DevOps
• Analyze production incidents and defects to identify root causes and improvements, and partner with developers to reduce defect leakage
• Improve QA processes, tooling and reporting, and mentor QA engineers within the team

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / Test Automation, preferably in financial services or complex enterprise systems
• Strong experience in senior QA and automation, ideally in financial services, asset management or similar regulated environments
• Experience in Agile / DevOps environments and CI/CD pipelines

Required skills

• Hands-on coding in at least one modern language (Java, C#, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript) and production-grade test automation
• Test automation frameworks, API testing, data validation and performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter)
• Familiarity with Postman, SoapUI, BDD/Cucumber, and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube
• Preferred: knowledge of investment management systems, RDBMS, SQL and exposure to AI-assisted development tools
